Medical education is a fundamental part of United Hospital Center’s heritage and mission. UHC is involved in various kinds of education and training partnerships.

Radiologic Technology Program

UHC School of Radiologic Technology (UHCSRT) is a 22.5-month program that prepares interested individuals for careers in medical imaging. The program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology and earned the maximum eight-year accreditation award in 2021.

Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program

UHC offers a certificate program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography for individuals interested in pursuing training in this field. The Vascular, Obstetrics/Gynecology, and Abdomen-Extended DMS programs at UHC are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the Allied Health Education Programs upon the recommendation of the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

About United Hospital Center

United Hospital Center is a 300-bed, award-winning medical facility in Bridgeport, WV. Tours may be requested to see UHC facilities and the variety of imaging exams and equipment and patient interactions that are part of the profession. Following the guided tour, prospective students can meet with program faculty to discuss the competitive application and selection process, learn about program policies and procedures, and ask questions. Tours are by appointment only.
